Hiking

High up to a world of mountain happiness

If you’re looking for more than just scenic hikes and want to take on real alpine challenges, Sölden, in the heart of Tyrol’s high alpine world, is the place to be. Over twenty marked routes lead from Sölden to altitudes above 3,000 meters, offering spectacular summit experiences, glacier hikes, and unforgettable panoramic views.

You might even become a collector of 3,000-meter peaks. First milestones could include Luibiskogel (3,110 m), Ramoljoch (3,426 m), Rotmoosjoch (3,055 m) or Zirmkogl (3,280 m). And maybe one day you'll reach the crown jewel: the Wildspitze (3,776 m) – Tyrol’s highest and Austria’s second-highest peak.

Cable car hikes

With the Gaislachkogl cable car just steps from your hotel, you can reach the mid-station at 2,174 m or even the summit station at 3,040 m – the perfect launch point for high-alpine hut hikes, ridge walks, or the BIG 3 panorama experience. The Giggijoch cable car is also included once daily with your Summer Card.

Encountering Glaciers

A particularly impressive option: hiking across Sölden’s glacier world. The included public bus takes you to both the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers, connected by the Rosi Mittermaier Tunnel – the highest road tunnel in Europe. From there, you can start tours to the Braunschweiger Hut, Rettenbachjoch, or descend directly back to Sölden.

Panorama trails

The ascent and descent are an adventure in themselves! But there is nothing like the striking wide-ranging views which await when you first reach the top! Follow a panorama trail and experience the joy of the mountain summit for longer and walk along ridges from one vantage point to the next. The most beautiful panorama trails with information and maps can be found via the link button.

Out and about in safety
