PICTURE-BOOK BIKING

Admittedly, for biking beginners specialist terms may sound like double Dutch and there is no sense of the fun which biking offers. But that soon changes. You will be drawn deeper into the fascination of biking with every turn you glide around and with every line you are drawn along.

The Bike Republic Sölden is like an enormous outdoor adventure and training area which extends over various mountains, planes and valleys. An extensive network of trails criss-crosses the Bike Republic, dotted with all kinds of special features and highlights such as flow trails where you can glide along almost without braking or pedalling and jump lines featuring obstacles and jump elements. Always in sight: the high Alpine glacial scenery, Sölden valley and the peaceful, gondola-free side of Sölden. There are numerous places to rest along the way with recliners where you can pull out your phone and take photos and relax your muscles before recharging your batteries at one of the approx. 30 Alpine lodges and mountain restaurants.

Bike-in & bike-out at THE SECRET! You will cross the stream from the resort by bridge where you come to the Gaislachkogelbahn valley station, the access point for the Bike Republic Sölden. Here one of the two pump tracks where you can refine your technique awaits before you head up the mountain.

BY THE WORLD’S BEST TRAIL DESIGNERS

Lines

The lines in the Bike Republic Sölden bear the signature of some of the world’s best trail designers. They are curved, rocky with integrated jump lines and flow sections for enormous variety.  The full 12 km is a combination of the three lines, the Gahe, Harbe and Lettn – a playful and enjoyable descent over a total of 1000m altitude.

ALPINE ENDURANCE UP AND DOWN

ENDURO ROUTES

If you wish to explore the Sölden mountains under your own steam, follow the special enduro routes which are explicitly signposted, for example to Hochsölden or via the ‘Glacier Express’ to the Rettenbachferner Glacier. Then downhill along trails and lines, always with the option to stop off for a well-deserved break.

ALONG NARROW TRAILS

NATURE TRAILS

The panoramic Alpine delights are perhaps best of all on the natural paths which people have been using for centuries. One route leads up to the Rotkogelhütte at 2,666m at the heart of a striking landscape. Overall there are 16 nature trails of different difficulty levels.

BIKING TECHNIQUE, SAFETY AND FUN

PUMP TRACKS

There are two pump tracks in Sölden which shows how important it is to familiarise yourself with your bike and the bends, waves, obstacles and other challenges before tackling the terrain. Rollin‘ awaits at the Gaislachkogelbahn gondola, the largest pump track in Tyrol. The Sunny pump track at the Hotel Sunny at the entrance to the resort is ideal for newcomers to biking.

HOW IT WORKS HERE

TYPICAL ÖTZTAL

Teäre, Zaahe, Ohn and Troaln - as you ride along the lines in the Bike Republic, you will pick up some Ötztal dialect at the same time! Did you know that the 900 year old dialect has been classified as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage asset since 2010? We are proud of that and it sounds very laid-back, doesn’t it?
